The AGL Energy Services business is continuing to work with our major industrial and commercial customers to deliver significant energy savings. This is primarily achieved through general energy efficiency advice, Energy Performance Contracts (EPCs) and our Energy Performance Monitoring System (EPM) which monitors and tracks energy savings.
We have continued to hold workshops for a number of our largest and most energy intensive customers. During these information sessions, we outlined new government requirements in relation to energy efficiency and how these may impact our customers. We also discuss climate change science and how the proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme may impact on their business.
In 2008, we have taken this service to a new level with the introduction of a new business division, Carbon Management Services (CMS). CMS is a complete service offering for our major industrial and commercial customers, providing greenhouse and energy foot-printing services, business strategy advice, carbon pricing for AEUs and energy efficiency advice. Through this total service offering, AGL’s major industrial and commercial customers will be well placed to take advantage of opportunities in a carbon-constrained environment.
Information about the suite of green energy options that are available to our residential and business customers is provided in the Customers section of this report.
